Thriftin
K, back a few weeks ago C did a post about her compost and she had this cute little pot that made her scraps look, fashionable, yes Cory your scraps were fashionable. What? Well, they were.
It made me think ok Jess, coffee can's gotta go and you have to open your mind to what you consider a scrap container. Open your mind. (Every time I say that I always hear Total Recall)
Anyways, I went to the thrift store that day with open mind and found it. Yes, it was there. Its the big white thingy in the picture. I don't know what it's original purpose is but I mean c'mon does it not look like it is supposed to be a cutesy scrap container. The outside is metal, but the inside is plastic so it cleans really easily and doesn't get rusty. Ahh. Oh yeah it was only two bucks. {insert jump for joy}
I also found that sweet little honey pot. Right now it bee empty, any ideas what to fill it with. Honey? Um no, we can't do that. We share our house with ants. But any other suggestions I would love to hear.
Last week I scooped up those napkins, 7 for $1.25. I don't know what happened to Mr.8. He prolly got separated somewhere along the trip. I hope he's ok. I haven't been a fan of peach since 1988, but I seriously think I am falling in love again. Last year I was all about me some yellow. This year I think I'm going peach or at least little bursts of it. D is not a peach guy. But he is also not a guy that gets in the way of my color love. Can't wait to see what you guys got!

Great finds! I love the comment on peach/1988....I think I am with you there. However have you noticed the nail colors and lip colors that are it???? yep. I might have to love that color again.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun finds! Your new scrap container is actually an ice container. Would you believe I saw that exact same one at Pottery Barn for a small fortune!?! Very fashionable my dear! And the honey pot, oh the honey pot! It's adorable. When you find a place for it I hope you'll bee a doll and show us! Yes, that took me a while to think of ;)
ReplyDeleteIce container? Wow, that never occurred to me. Thanks for the info and Pottery Barn, ooo don't I feel all high fash!
Deleteare you kidding me with that tin? and is that a lid?? PERFECT scraps container.
ReplyDeletei use an old tupperware box. i would love one like yours.
Exactly what I said out loud in thrift store. "Are ya kidding me?!" Yes it has a lid, that fits tight so I don't even have little fruit flies swarming. I mean that ice container must have been really good in its previous life because it has reincarnated to one AWESOME scrap container.
DeleteWonderful finds! I laughed at the bit about sharing your house with ants. I think ants share our house with us, rather than the other way around! The peach is lovely, too!
