Bringing it In

Tomorrow is Winter Solstice and it will be our first official Winter Solstice celebration as a family. We have talked about it in previous years, but never honored the day with a celebration.

I am so excited! It is my wish for the new year to honor more traditions as a family and to have closeness with each other as well as a oneness with Mother Earth. I believe celebrating the solstice is just the way to do that.

Winter solstice is my favorite. It reminds us to slow down and bring it inwards. Focus on our spirit and what is truly important. We are comforted in the fact that in the darkest hour we are all in this together and soon there will be light.

We plan on having soup and bread for dinner, coloring by candlelight, making animal food and our tradition of opening Christmas Eve pj's has transformed into opening solstice pajamas.

this book is on my wish list

Snuggle in friends, draw close to your loved ones and celebrate our oneness with Mother Earth, we are all responsible for her well-being and each other's... the light will shine again soon
