For Real

This keeping it real series with Monica has been a great exercise for me. It has taught me to stretch my view and see "good and bad" times in my life under new light, something I feel is vital to my growth as a spiritual being in this human form. I have seen my experiences as positive and negative, highs and lows and ups and downs.

This week is different. My path has changed from it's usual uphill and downhill trek to level ground. While it level,  the trail feels either narrow or wide. Sometimes my path is so narrow I have to turn sideways, even hold my breath as I squeeze through to remain unscathed. Others, it is so wide I could skip, dance, spin and run open armed. Those are some fun times.

Narrow
letting the grass get too long before cutting it
renovation project started and not completed
soccer game way too early for a four year old
feeling lost

Wide
starting regardless
landscaping an old bed
getting some seeds going
motivation finding me after years of absence
quieting those nay-saying inner voices
hanging with my mama
catching some animal medicine

Wishing you all a very special weekend. Keep our Mother in your heart.

  2. I love the wide and narrow imagery for looking at your journey, and really appreciate your reflections on this exercise. It really is valuable. It sounds like a bit of a breakthrough week for you! It can be tough when motivation is lacking - so glad you found some.

    1. Thanks as always Melissa. I have been so focused on my children and their okayness, I forgot how to take care of my own. Finally had an ah-ha moment and found the motivation I needed to take care of some mama business. xo

  6. We've let the grass grow too long many times!! lol Rake up the grass clippings and make a garden tea - excellent organic fertilizer for the flowers and veggies! :) We started renovating our house 12 years ago - still not done. Not even close. :( It's so damned expensive to do anything! ugh

I love hanging with my mama! Animal medicine and Mother in our hearts - LOVE!
